Team games are popular in Ludhiana, people show interest in Cricket, Field Hockey and Kabaddi. Every Sunday morning, cricket matches are played in almost every parks and grounds. Football is also somewhat popular. Due to lack of interest Punjab's most famous Football club JCT FC was dissolved in 2011. In school Physical Education also helping to promote new games like Baseball, Softball, Netball ets. Also Basketball and Volleyball are getting popular. In individual games students also performing good at national and international level. Mostly Schools and Collages have good playing grounds for games.

Cricket is very popular in grounds and streets of the city. Mostly boys want to buy a cricket bat. Punjab Agricultural University's cricket ground is used for many Ranji Trophy matches for Punjab State Team.

Football is also well known game. Many local clubs and Village teams take part in local tournaments. Guru Nanak Stadium was the home ground of demolished JCT FC.

Guru Nanak Stadium is also known for the Kabaddi matches along with athletic games. Ludhiana has great passion for punjabi game Kabaddi. Two time Kabaddi world cup's Finals are played in Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana[11].

Gulli Danda
It is a traditional game of the Ludhiana villages. Part of Punjabi culture. But is no longer as popular. It is played in rural or orthodox parts of the state
